WORKSHOPS

 

The Institute of Yoruba Cultural Studies and Herbal Clinical Research's aim is to preserve the Yoruba Culture and promote the teachings and wisdom of Ifa and the practices of Orisa worship.  The Institute is offering ongoing workshops covering in depth aspects of the Yoruba tradition.   In the United States, classes commence in the months of March through May and October through December.  In Nigeria, classes commence in the months of January through March and June through September.  On site accommodations are available in Nigeria with facilities for foreign and indigenous participants.  The Institute welcomes practitioners and laypersons interested in learning the dynamics of the Yoruba culture and its spiritual concepts.  "Knowledge is the seed that nurtures our growth and expands our vision" .

Courses Available:

  Priesthood Training* (Two year training program available)

  Yoruba Language and Culture (Grammar, conversational Yoruba and traditional culture)

  Divination* (Obi Abata and Opele)

  Herbal Studies* (Traditional herbs, their names and application)

  Ceremony/Practice/Application* (Detailed understanding of application of ceremony)

  Yoruba Drums

  Yoruba Food Preparation

      *Only available to Priest and Priestesses
